Academic Affairs message
A message from Tom McDonnell
Spring is always a busy quarter at Metropolitan Community College, and it is my favorite quarter at the College. It is in the spring that we get to see the fruits of your labor as educators and mentors as we recognize our students for the great things they have achieved.
Faculty service awards
This year, 32 full-time and 122 adjunct faculty were recognized at the Academic Affairs Awards Reception on March 2 for their outstanding service to the College. MCC is proud of the dedicated faculty who help make it possible to serve the thousands of students who walk through our doors each quarter.
Excellence in Teaching Awards
MCC's Excellence in Teaching Awards were presented at the Academic Affairs Awards Reception on March 2. These awards are given annually to full-time and adjunct faculty for their personal dedication to professionalism, commitment to learning, relationships with students and relationships with colleagues.
Institute for Faculty Excellence
The IFEX group is here to support faculty in any way we can. Your team members are Lynn Bradman (Center for Learning Effectiveness, Assessment and Research), Cindy Catherwood (Curriculum Design Studio) and Michelle Rule (faculty development coordinator). Plan to stop by to see us on "the hill" at the Fort Omaha Campus in building 14S.
Once again, spring is a busy season for the Theatre program. The Metro Theatre Tour will return in mid-May. Additionally, the Great Plains Theatre Conference offices are bustling lately. This year marks the 10th anniversary, and there is lots in store.
