Julia Izumi is an NYC-based playwright and performer. Her plays have been performed and developed at the New Ohio Theater, Dixon Place, the Martin E. Segal Center, Williamstown Theatre Festival, Chicago Dramatists, Cloud City with Fresh Ground Pepper (2015 PlayGround PlayGroup Residency), 4th Street Theatre with The Habitat, Variations Theatre Group, Ingenue Theatre, Primary Stages, and Tufts University, where she earned her B.A. in Drama. She is a proud member of the BMI Librettists Workshop and the Artistic Committee of The Brewing Dept. She was granted a 2015 First Floor Studio Residency at HB Studio. Her plays also include THE MAKERS; This is a pen; A Likely Pair; Tea and Talk and Okay; The Family Plan; Sullied Sallied Flesh, and more. As a performer, some of her recent credits include HamletGhosts (HERE, Rochester Fringe), Washougal My Heart (Communal Spaces), and Dracula, or the Un-Dead (Williamstown Theatre Festival).
